California girl...

1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 6.6L
I was stationed in Monterey, California from 2002-2004, and managed to find this one-owner low mileage beauty without even really looking. I needed a car to get around town, and stumbled across a website for dealership in San Jose that specialized in European exotics like Ferrari and Lamborghini. I saw the nose of the T/A in the background of a picture of a vintage Porsche race car and then scoured the site for a clear shot of the car. My first car was a $50 1978 Camaro (inline 6), and I sorta fell in love with the style, so I always investigated any 2nd-gen F-body I saw. No dice this time. There were no other pictures of the car on the website at all. A few days later I checked back just for kicks, and voila, there she was. My hopes of actually purchasing the car though were dashed when I realized just how nice she was. 58K original miles; one owner; not a single cosmetic defect on the entire car. However, to my surprise, the price posted was just $4900! Granted, in 1979, these cars weren't known for their performance, but it was still in pristine condition, and certainly much nicer than anything in Connecticut at twice the price! I took a $150+ one-way cab ride to San Jose and grabbed her before anyone else could.

Lamborghini Gallardo

The Lamborghini Gallardo
is a sports car built by Lamborghini. The Gallardo is Lamborghini's most-produced model to date, with over 10,000 built in its first seven years of production. The car is named after a famous breed of fighting bull. The Spanish word gallardo translates into "gallant".
The Gallardo offers two choices of transmissions, a conventional (H-Box) six-speed manual transmission, and an advanced six-speed electro-hydraulically controlled semi-automatic robotized manual, which Lamborghini abbreviates to "E-gear". The "E-gear" allows the driver to make shifts much faster than a manual transmission would. The driver shifts up and down via paddles behind the steering wheel, but also has an automatic mode.
